    John Simson, Watertown, came in the Truelove, 1635, aged 30, by w. Susanna, wh. prob. came with him in this, as in a former voyage, had Sarah, b. 8 May 1634, wh. perhaps, d. young; Hannah, 25 July 1636; John, 20 Nov. 1638; Jonathan, 17 Dec. 1640; Eliz. 3 Mar. 1642 or 3; and he d. or was bur. 10 June 1643. The wid. in Nov. foll. sold the est. and m. the same yr. George Parkhurst.

    ORIGIN: Unknown.
    MIGRATION: 1634 (based on birth of child at Watertwon on 28 May 1634 [WaVR 1:3]. … Both Savage and Pope suggest that the "John Simpson" who was a passenger to New England on the Truelove in 1635 may have been the same as the subject of the present sketch, making a second trip to New England [Hotten 132, Savage 4:101; Pope 416]. This sequence of events seems unlikely, and we conclude that the 1635 passenger was probably a different man.
    DEATH: "John the husband of Susan Simson" was buried at Watertown on 10 June 1643 [WaVR 1:11].
