Obituary.
Mr. John 5caliy, Darlinghurst.
We have to record the death of Mr. John
Scally, an old and respected resident of
Darlinghurst, who passed away in January
after a long and painful lllness. He was for
many years employed by the firm of W. S.
Friend and Co. The last prayers were read
at his late resldence by the Very Rev, Dean
O'Haran, assisted by Rev. Father O'Gorman.
His remains were interred in
the Waverley Cemetery, a number of
friends and relatives following his remains
to the grave. Noticeable among
them were Mr. J. Jones (nephew) of Bredbo,
Miss Jones, Mrs. A. Edwards and daughters
(nieces), Mrs. Landrigan, Mrs. Patchett,
Mr, and Mrs. J. Petitt, Mrs. Walsh, Miss
Slattery and Mr. James Slattery, jun.
(cousins), Mr. James Slattery. sen., Mr.
Sandrigan, Mrs. Scally and Mrs. Malone
(sisters-in-Iaw) and family, Mr. William
Hogan, Mr.' John Hogan, and his two executors,
Mr. David Brown and Mr. Ousack.
He was for many years connected with the
parish of St. Canice's, to which church he
left a handsome donation, as also to many
other charitable institutions. — R.I, P.
