worked for Richfield Oil Company From John's daughter Verla, March 1996: John was a farmer in Custer County Nebraska. He sold the farm and moved his family - wife and two children - to Long Beach, California, in the early 1920's. The oil boom was on and he started working for Richfield Oil Company, for whom he worked until his retirement at age 65. He and Saide had many visitors from Nebraska. They always attended the Nebraska Picnic at Bixby Park in Long Beach.
