By 1820 the Riddell's who were there were not our group. Our group had
moved on. I have that John Riddle (Ruddell) b. 1797 who married Anna
Harshbarger was the son of Andrew Riddle (Ruddell) b. abt 1771 and
    Catherine "Katie" Rader.
According to the book A PARTIAL HISTORY OF THE RIDDLE-BEAVER FAMILIES OF
BETETOURT COUNTY, VIRGINIA, HIGHLAND COUNTY, OHIO, DECATUR AND PAGE
COUNTIES, IOWA, John Riddle (Ruddell) and Anna moved to Highland County,
Ohio where John is found in the 1850 Census as a market peddler. They moved
with their children, the Beavers family, and other related families to
    Decatur Co., Iowa in 1853.

Andrew Riddle (Ruddell), father of John Riddle (Ruddell) was the son of
Cornelius Ruddell (Riddle). Cornelius Ruddell (Riddle) was the brother of
the Isaac Riddle (Ruddell) who is in Montgomery Co., VA in 1769 in a furs
dispute with Christopher Choat. We found the record of this court case
last September when the seven of us descended on the Montomery Co., Va.
court house. So, the John Riddle (Ruddell) Jack and Betty found in the
Botetourt County Court Records is the grandnephew of Isaac Riddle
(Ruddell) who lived in Montgomery Co., VA from 1769 to 1779 when he went to
Ruddell's Station in KY. There he and his family were captured by indians
in 1779 and marched off to Detroit. They were released in 1784 (some of
them) and Isaac Riddle (Ruddell) appears in Surry Co., NC settling affairs
in the probate of the estate of Marmaduhe Kimbrough, decd. Mentioned also
in this settle are Isaac Riddle, John Bruce (the John Brice Jack and Betty
found in Botetourt Co. in law suits with Isaac Riddle in 1771, 1772 and
1773?), Edmund Fanning - noted tory, Roger and Elias Turner - noted tories.
The Inv. of Marmaduhe Kimbrough states that his wife was Mary Turner, dau.
of Roger Turner. He moved from VA, to then Edgecombe Co., NC to Orange
Co., NC, to the Shallowford. Hum!!!! These people all knew each other,
and came from the same places!!!!!
