John Rhodes paid 830 pounds of tobacco in 1746,47,48 and 49 in yearly rents due to the estate of Capt. William Brent of Stafford Co., VA. Some or all of these rents must have been paid by John Rhodes, the son.

The Overwharton Parish records in Stafford Co., VA record the death of John Rhodes on 12 Nov 1748.

His widow Ann married Robert Fristoe, of Overwharton Parish, in 1752. He may have been a widower, as a Robert Fristoe was having children baptized earlier in the Overwharton records. The couple were still living in the parish on 27 Jan 1759 when Robt. Fristoe and Ann (A her mrk) Fristoe witnessed the will of Benjamin Tolson. A Robert Fristoe left a will in 1769 which mentions 'loving wife' and father Richard Fristoe - if this is Ann's husband she was still living at this time. Rhodes Family - Rootsweb
