History of the Town of Bedford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, from Its Earliest Settlement to the Year of Our Lord, 1891 says John d. 1805, but as there is no record found in the VRs and this death does not seem to be mentioned in other sources, it seems possible Brown confused the father's death in 1805 with this John. We know the son was alive in 1803 when the father wrote his will.
