  4.   The article on the Percival family in Source:Connecticut Nutmegger (Connecticut Society of Genealogists), Vol. 21, p. 315, erroneously says this John Percival, b. Sandwich, 6 Nov 1754, m. 11 Dec 1773 Sarah --- who d. Sandwich 21 Mar 1854, having a whole passel of children starting in 1801, 28 years after the date of their alleged marriage! This is contradicted by vital records in Lee, Berkshire, Mass. which gives the births of John, 6 Nov 1754, "in Sandwich", and Ruth, 9 Jan 1759, "in Falmouth", suggesting he actually married a Ruth during an overlapping time period. It is further contradicted by the death record of the named Sarah, "widow of John Percival" on 21 Mar 1854 in Sandwich, which gives her age as 80, making her birth about 1774, so she clearly did not marry in 1773! It turns out, after a little investigation, that Sarah's husband was a different John Percival, s/o Benjamin and Lydia, b. 1775, d. 1848, m. 1796 Sarah Smith.
