Many sources, notably a book of Rev. War veterans, NYGBR article, and even personal notes of Lydia Brownson seem to indicate John's wife is Ruth Crocker, but it is unclear how they arrived at this conclusion and they don't seem to identify her parnets. No such birth is registered in Falmouth VRs to compare to the Lee record giving the birth of Ruth as 9 Jan 1759 "in Famouth". However, if this is true, she would undoubtedly be the daughter of Noah Crocker and Content Davis, who married in Fallbrook in 1756 and were in Lee, Mass., by 1777 when he signed a petition, if not earlier. Noah's mother was named Ruth, and then, too, John and Ruth Percival named a daughter Content.
