!There may not be any Isaac Newton Murdock Sr. There is no evidence of such. J.M. Murdock was found in the 1860 census Ellis Co. Texas and John M.orW. Murdock in the 1850 census Warren Co. Kentucky. J.M. Murdock was found in Mansfield, Tarrant Co. Texas (where Nancy and the children moved after the war) in June of 1861 joining the Conferate Forces as a private in the Mansfield Mtd. Rifle Guards, 10th Brigade under Capt. Thomas Moody. There is also a J.M. Murdock, private in the Ellis Co. 19th Brigade under Capt. Jackson Bradley, November 1861. A John Morton Murdock is found in a will of 1927, Iredell Co. North Carolina of James Murdock. James' wife is Jane (Jane Morton according to a marriage record of Iredell Co. N.C.). This turned out to be a wrong lead. John Murdock went from Kentucky sometime between 1851 and 1853 to Red Oak, Ellis Co. Texas. B.9 Jan 1989 E.18 Aug 1989 Denver under the name of Johm M. John Murdock's 1850 census record gives his birthplace as North Carolina. Family tradition says he came to Kentucky from Henry County Georgia. He died of Typhoid fever and is believed to be buried "on the Cahill Farm, near Lillian, Texas, where there is a marble monument.
