Last Will and Testament

In the name of God Amen, the 28th day of Sept. 1759, I, John Mills Sr., of the County of Rowan & province of N.C. being sick & weak in body, but of sound & perfect memory, thanks be to Almighty for the same & calling to mind the uncertainty of this frail & mortal life & that it is appointed for all men once to die & after death to come to Judgement, do make & ordain this my last will & testament, disannulling & revoking all former wills made by me and as for such wordly estates it has pleased God to bless me with in this llife, I devise, dispose of & bequeath of as followeth.
Imprimis. First & principally I recommend my soul to Almight God my creator. Secondly I recommend my body to the earth to be buried in a Christian & decent manner at the discretion of my executrix hereafter named.
Item. I give & bequeath to my well beloved wife Rebecah Mills all my movable goods, chattels, lands debts & demands owe to me to be left to her discretion for the support of her children, to her & her heirs, executors, administrators & assigns forever.
Item. I give & bequeath to my son Thomas Mills by my former wife 1 shilling sterling with that part he hath alredy received, to him his heirs & assigns forever.
Item. I give & bequeath to my son John Mills by my former wife 1 shilling sterling with that part he hath alredy received, to him his heirs & assigns forever.
Item. I give & bequeath to my son Herr Mills by my former wife 1 shilling sterling with that part he hath alredy received, to him his heirs & assigns forever.
Item. I give & bequeath to my son Henry Mills by my former wife 1 shilling sterling with that part he hath alredy received, to him his heirs & assigns forever.
Item. I give & bequeath to my daughter Mary Beeson by my former wife 1 shilling sterling with that part he hath alredy received, to him his heirs & assigns forever.
Item. I nominate & appoint my well beloved wife Rebeckah Mills whole & sole executrix of this my last will & testament.
In witness therof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this Sept. 28, 1759.
