    Obituary - John R. Kiser, Sr.,70 of Alum Bank, died Monday, Jan. 1, 1990, at Memorial Hospital of Bedford County. He was born Oct. 16, 1919, in Barrelville, Md., a son of the late Samuel J. and Barbara E. (Deneen) Kiser. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Anna L. Kiser, and nine brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife, Margaret L. (Twigg) Kiser. His death ends a marriage of 49 years. Also surviving are five sons: John R. Kiser, Jr., Hyattsville, Md.; W. Paul Kiser, Claysburg; E. Elroy Kiser, Schellsburg; Wayne E. Emerick, Alum Bank; Brian K. Pineda, Alum Bank; five daughters; Mrs. Barbara M. G. Bolen, Lemaster; Mrs. Lillian V. Gohn, Alum Bank; Mrs. Shirley J. Hinson, Bedford; Mrs. Paulette M. Bartholow, Bedford RD 5; Mrs. Barbara L. Dodd, Fredericksburg. Twenty-two grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren survive, along with two sisters, Mrs. Anna Burkett, Corriganville, Md., and Mrs. Lillian Emerick, Hyndman. Mr. Kiser was retired from Bethlehem Steel Corp., Johnstown, where he had worked for 38 years in the open hearth section. He was a member of United Steelworkers of America, Local 2635. He served with the army during World War II. Funeral services: Wednesday Jan. 3, at 1 p.m., at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, with the Rev. Charles F.Rhodes officiating. Burial at Hyndman Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home Tuesday, Jan. 2, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. NOTE: birthdate s/b Oct 17th. Also, Wayne Emerick, Brian Pineda & Mrs.Barbara L.Dodd are the children of Barbara Kiser Bolen raised by their grandparents.
