jdonald@@amug.org I am related to the brothers of JOHN and JAMES KERR of Washington County, Pennsylvania. They both married daughters of Rev. JAMES POWER, a Presbyterian circuit rider originally from Chester County. Pennsylvania in the mid to late 1700's. Does anyone have data connecting them to the NJ., settler (Walter Ker) . I have a copy of a small booklet on Kerr's of New Jersey which briefly mentions these two brothers as showing up in Washington County. John is my ancestor and died fairly young leaving two children - a son JOHN KERR and a daughter MARY KERR who married a CAROTHERS. James became a trustee of the Washington College. Both of the brothers married a daughter of the circuit rider Rev. JAMES POWER from Chester Co., PA in the mid to late 1700's. James died around 1824 and John died around 1790.
