Will of John Kerr [Note: numerous spelling errors]

In the name of God amen ~ I John Kerr of Rowan County and State of North Carolina, Being in a low state of health but of perfect mind and memory and calling to mind the mortality of my Body and that it is appointed for all men to Die, to make this my Last will and Testiment ~ and first of all I give and recomend my Soul into the hands of God, that give it hoping that throug[h] the merits Death Intercession of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to have a full and free Pardon of all my Sins and to Inherit Eaternel Life ~ And as t[o]uching Such worl[d]ly estate as it hath pleased God to bless me with in this life I give and Desire bequeath and dispose of in teh following manner and form ~ And first it is my desire that ^all my just debts I owe to any person be paid.

I give and bequeath and devise to __ Foard? my Negro fel[l]ow From the day of my death, all the days of his Life to himself to be free to himself while he lives on Earth.

I give bequeath to __ Christopher Irvin, the son of Geo. Irwin fiftey dollars.

I give bequeth to Pegeye (Peggy?) the Doter [Daughter] of Georg Irvin fiftey Dollars

I give Bequeath to A Son of Betsey Dickey that was reported to be my Child the Sum of one Hundred Dollars to be paid at the Descreation of the Executors and that put to the age of Schooling.

I give bequeath to Elibth (Elizabeth) Irvin the wife of George Irwin my Bed & puter? ^{and all my house hold furniture}. I also Reserve to my Self as ^{much of any Estate} will eaver my Confs with a marvel Tome? ~ Then the remainder of my Estate to be devided ecolly [equally] between Jeames (James) Kerr and Letos [Letas/Lettice?] My Brother and Sister and to go and be devided Ecolly [Equally] between their Heirs, all but a Cow that is at William Youngs that I give & bequeath to him ~ also a Large Bibel [Bible] I give & bequeath to James Kerr ~ also ^to his doter [daughter] ^a Small Bibel [Bible] & Cafession Feath?

Ratifying this to be my Last Will and Testiment ~ Do ap[p]oint James Kerr & Georg Irwin my Exetors [Executors] in witness whereof I do Set my hand and Seal this thirteenth day of August 1804.

N.B., I do alow [allow] Georg Irwin all debts due from me to any person that has listed on my a[c]count from the ^day Bot? my Land to this day.
