Facts and Events
John Hawtree was baptised on 1st July 1798 at Luton in Bedfordshire, son of Elizabeth Hawtree, formerly Marshall, and her husband Thomas Hawtree, an agricultural labourer. Shortly after John's baptism, the family left Luton, next being seen in 1802 living at Pinner in Middlesex, some distance south of Luton. They moved again between 1804 and 1811 to Edmonton, where they lived at Palmers Green, then a separate hamlet removed from the village.
John appears in both the 1841 and 1851 census living at Winchmore Hill in Edmonton, married to an Elizabeth with whom he had several children. He has yet to be traced after 1851.
