[LawrH]: (p94, Plaingrove Township) Michael Brown, William and Andrew Wallace and John Green also came early. None of them are now in the township. The Wallaces settled a tract adjoining the Hagan farm, and Brown and Green were a mile or more to the south of them. The farms of Brown and Green lay alongside each other. The Brown farm was the one now occupied by John and David Bingham, who came sometime subsequent to 1800.
BIOGRAPHY: John Green married Susannah Hollopeter, daughter of Mathais Hollopeter, a wealthy German landowner. John was disowned by the Quakers for this marriage. John and Susanna left York County, PA and went to Washington Co, PA in about 1783 where they lived until 1802 when he moved to Mercer Co., PA. John and Susannah had at least 6 children, and possibly more. (Info from Charles Green <cgreen at clover.net> 6/24/01(via others))
