Called Dewey, he married Loretta Mae Armentrout on 07 Apr 1918 in Webster County, WV. They had at least 2 children.

By 1920 they lived next door to his sister's son, Harlie. Harley and Dewey worked together at the lumber mill and were good friends.

By 1930 Dewey was an inspector at the lumber mill. His brother Ted was a fireman there and lived on the opposite side.

At some point they moved to Ohio.

Dewey is buried in the Stow Cemetery in Summit County, Ohio, Plot G-33-4.
