    John Truman Gover, age 77 years, of Iberia, Mo., passed away Saturday, August 20, 1977 at Charles E. Still Hospital in Jefferson City, Mo. where he had been a patient since August 19. Mr. Gover was born March 6, 1900 in Brumley, Mo. in Miller County, the son of John and Ella (Gott) Gover. He was united in marriage on January 8, 1921 in St. Louis, MO. to Elsie I. Smith, who survives of the home.

    In 1908, Mr. Gover moved to St. Louis, Mo. and then to Washington, D.C. in 1942. He returned to Iberia, Mo. in 1968 to retire. Mr. Gover was a plate printer for the Bureau of Engraving. He was a member of Tower Grove Baptist Church and an active member of Wellston Lodge No. 613 AF&AM for 60 years.

    Preceding him in death were his parents; 1 sister, Glenna Gover; 1 half brother, Charles Peterson, and 1 son in infancy.

    Surviving other than his wife, Elsie, are 1 daughter, Mary Elizabeth Warfel of Oxen Hill, Maryland; 1 son, Robert Eugene Gover of Jessup, Maryland; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

    Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 23, 1977 at the Styevinson Chapel in Iberia, Mo. with Rev. James Hill officiating. Interment was in the Gott Cemetery under the direction of the Stevinson Funeral Home of Iberia, Mo. Pallbearers were Marion Armentrout, Don Jarrett, Tom Mahaffey, Gene Smith, Roy Smith and Drexel Watkins.
