Dea. John Gove,2 born in London, England, in 1627 [subsequent research shows that he was baptized at St. Botolph's, London, 25 March 1631/32]. He was a turner by trade, and lived in Charlestown and Cambridge, Mass., where he was a constable, tithing man and deacon of the church for many years. He married, first, Mary, daughter of William Aspinwall, an early settler of Boston, Oct. 6, 1658. She was born about 1620, and united with the church March i, 1661, being baptized two days later. She died Nov. 14, 1676 [she apparently died earlier; the wife who died Nov. 14, 1676 was "Sarah"]. He married, second, Mary Woodward (Woodhead?) March 15, 1677. She was born in 1644; and died Sept. 11, 1700, aged fifty-six. He married, third, widow Elizabeth Waldron, formerly of Boston, Dec. 2, 1700; and she died Nov. 24, 1704. He survived her just one month, dying Dec. 24, 1704.
