JOHN M. FLETCHER

19 Jan 1917 John M. Fletcher, Douglas County pioneer, died Jan 12. Mr. Fletcher was born in Carrol county, Ohio, 76 years ago, September 11, and crossed the plains with his parents in the summer of 1852, settling in Oregon. In 1887 he came to Douglas county and filed on a homestead 11 miles northeast of Waterville, where, with his family he lived until about two months ago. He was married to Nancy McAllister in July 1867. To this union 12 children were born, 11 of whom, together with the widow, survive.
