John FENIMORE was born in 1750 in , New Jersey. He served in the military between 1778 and 1780 in Mendham, Morris Co., New Jersey. According to the Wayne County Indiana Cemetery records John served as a Captain in the Revolutionary War. He was on duty in 1780 at the town of Medham, Morris County in New Jersey after serving under a General John Sullivan in the Wyoming and Genesee Valleys
