Tilford Craycraft, Obituary From the Dec 9th, 1920, Bath County, KY Newspaper

"Mark the perfect man and behold the upright, The end of that man is peace"

On Dec. 6th, (1920) 10 o'clock p.m. Mr. Craycraft after years of delicate health sank to eternal rest as one who lies down to pleasant dreams. He met death with calm resignation and with unfaltering trust, in Him who doeth all things well. He expressed the sentiments as to its approach, that it matters not how soon 'twill be, "Thy will and not mine be done."

As we viewed the ending of this Godly man we were constrained to pause and reflect how one with a smile on his countenance could exhibit such confidence, such intrepidity in his passing moments. We were brought to realize that about two years since, that one who had shared with him the joys and sorrows and burdens of this existence through the vicissitudes of many years passed to that home where friends and loved ones long parted shall meet again.

To Mr. Craycraft's children, grandchildren, friends and neighbors we can say in that he has taught you how to live , he has taught you how to die. After the night of death his will be a glorious dawning.

Mr. Craycraft, when death claimed him, had nearly reached his 78th birthday. His good wife who preceded him was about three years younger than himself. They were familiarly and affectionately known as "uncle Tilf" and aunt "Rye." The two were a benediction and a blessing in the neighborhood in which they lived. The days were never too cold, nor were the nights too dark and stormy to daunt them in their unselfish, ministration to others. They were much loved and deservedly so. The legend of their good deeds will ever linger in the Kendall Springs neighborhood. They will be numbered with those of whom it will be said "Blessed are they who keep His commandments, that they may have a right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city." They were blessed with a splendid family of children and grandchildren who promise to be worthy of their great ancestry. There survives Mr. Craycraft, his sister, Mrs. Mary Ginter, his sons James, Charles, Eli, Mat, Oll and Ott, and his daughter Mrs. Emil Rogers. The funeral services conducted by Brothers Wilholt and Crouch bore a deep tone of comfort and consolation to his stricken family. Our heart goes out in sympathy for them in this greatest of all sorrows..
