According to census records John Samuel Casey was born in Tennessee in February 1863. According to the 1904 poll tax for Bowie County he moved to Texarkana, or at least Bowie County about 1883.He married Mary Richardson about this time. In 1900 they were living in Texarkana, Texas. Sometime prior to 1920 he moved to Shreveport, Louisiana. John was a building contractor. He died in Shreveport on 28 February 1947 and was buried in the family plot in Eylau Cemetery outside Texarkana, Texas.
