Facts and Events
See p57-59 of BoW 6' 2" broad shoulders, fair hair and blue eyes. When he was going to school he put his ankle out of joint. There was no medical attention in those days so his ankle was not set properly and he walked with a limp for the rest of his life. He was a great fisherman and a hard worker. He was supposed to have rowed to Shetland (or Fair Isle) which was a great feat. When John knocked off the fishing, they farmed the 35 acre farm of Cotterochan in Rapness. |
