Facts and Events
1799--April 15, John Allison and Charles Cummins, surety. John Allison and Nancy Cummins, daughter of above Charles. John is of age.
From Rootsweb.com post: (not proven information) John Ellison, born 1773, died 1854-1860 was the father of William. William D Ellison bn 1808 Lewis D. Ellison bn 1815 John W. Ellison bn 1817 Samuel bn 1819 married a Sarah James E. bn 1820 married a Sarah John, age 77, appears in the 1850 Kanawha census with Samuel. Also in Kanawha Wills, 1853-1854, Book S, page 28.... John gives to Samuel, his son, for taking care of him.. also mentions 2 oldest sons, John Wesley Ellison and Lewis Delaney Ellison. In further research, I have found a record of John Ellison - md Nancy Cummins Nancy had a father and brother both named Charles. In Morgantown this past summer I copied almost all of the land grant information from their records verifying that John Allison was granted 22,000 acres, evidently for military services rendered.. most of the land was from the "Borden" land. This John Ellison/Allison is not of the "Farley's Fort" Ellison's.. unless he may be a cousin to one of the early settler's of Farley Fort area. He did not locate close to them... Referring to two volumes of research sent to me by Salt Lake Researchers, they state that John born 1773 is the son of a John also... then by using wills, they state that John (elder) is the son of a Robert and a Hannah McClure, but they needed to do more research. |
