•Note: (Research):Having a birth about 1774 seems wrong, especially when the parents were married about 1778. He's probably even younger than his sister Catherine. In Chalkey's Chronicles of the Scots-Irish in Virginia, John is listed as the infant son of Andrew, son of Andrew (in his will). Andrew's son, Andrew, Jr., predeceased him. So I suspect he was born about 1786 or 1787. Grandfather Andrew died in 1788.
