About John Frederick Veregge
Johann Frederich Veregge was born 16 May 1822 near Schledehausen, Osnabruck, Hannover, Germany, the son of Johan Frederick Veregge and Marie Elizabeth Wessler. He migrated at age 19 to America on the ship "Agnes", which arrived in Baltimore, Maryland in July 1842. According to the Passenger List, his destination was "Cincinnati", which is in Hamilton County, Ohio.
He appears to have been married 1st, four years after his emigration to America to Anna Jane Greathaus on 29 October 1846 in Hamilton County, Ohio [needs research]. She may have died before his apparent 2nd marriage to Catherine Elizabeth "Eliza" Meyer about 1851, also likely in Ohio since their first son, Johann Heinrich Veregge was born there in October 1852.
