Dietlein Page 3 Johann [John] Vitus Dietlein was born in the family house #12 at Zailach near Ansbach in Bavaria, Germany. According to the church records at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lehrberg, John Vitus was the third child but the first son born to Johann Simon Dietlein and his wife Maria Barbara nee Wellhofer. Johann Vitas was born at 4 a.m. on May 30, 1857, and was baptized on June 1st. He came to America some time before June 1884 because he married the former Eva Margaretha Lang at the Zion Beaver Church near Auburn, Michigan, on June 2, 1884.
