Lineage

The identification of her parents as William Clark and Joane/Jane Stone appears to come from speculation in the Simon Stone Genealogy (p. 50 footnote), based on the discovery of the marriage record of William Clark and Joane Stone. This does not appear to have been confirmed by the discovery of a baptism record for a Joane, daughter of these parents.

The baptism record (21 May 1596) appears to be connected with parents William Clark and Margaret Hadlock, but I could find no reliable source for either the baptism or the identification of Joane Clark, daughter of William Clark and Margaret Hadlock as the wife of Simon Stone. The baptism date matches her age at immigration (38 in April 1635).
