  • Jimmy Croxton, 59 of Madisonville, died at 9:40 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2001, at his residence of natural causes.
  He was born in Muhlenberg County on Dec 26, 1941, to the late Holbart Croxton and Aline Albright Croxton. He retired from Peabody Coal Company, was a member of Liberty Missionary Baptist Church, was a Kentucky Colonel, and an avid hunter and fisherman.   

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Williams Croxton; four daughters, Robin Burnett of Defuniak, Fla., Lori Pendley, Michelle Dickerson and Tracie Croxton, all of Madisonville; one son Sam Croxton of Freeport, Fla; one sister, Wanda Wicks of Henderson, Ky.,; one brother, Jerry Croxton of Central City, Ky.; and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Liberty Baptist Church in Madisonville with the Revs. Jeff Hendricks and Tondra Daugherty, and Ro. Danny Strader officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery in Madisonville. Barnett-Strother Funeral Home is in Charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until noon Thursday at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. until service time Thursday at the Church.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to Liberty Missionary Baptist Church building fund or to the Earlington First Baptist Church building fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home
