Jesse DAVIS first married Mary (Polly) CHAPMAN, daughter of Daniel CHAPMAN and Esther CROCKETT on 2 May 1787 in Lincoln County, Kentucky. Mary seems to have passed away sometime shortly thereafter. Jesse DAVIS then married Elizabeth HOUGHAM about 1791 probably in Montgomery County, Kentucky.
William DAVIS was the first child born to Jesse and Elizabeth DAVIS. He was born about 1792 in Clintonville, Bourbon County or Montgomery County, Kentucky. He married Mary CLINE, daughter of John CLINE and Mary McNEELEY, on 1 Jun 1815 in Fleming County, Kentucky. After Mary died about 1817, William DAVIS married Lydia HOPPER on 3 Jun 1817 in Fleming County, Kentucky.

Revolutionary war veteran Jesse DAVIS was born in Stafford Co VA in the 1750's. He enlisted at Dumfrees in 1779 and after serving his time was discharged at Louisville KY in 1781. He married Polly CHAPMAN in Lincoln Co and later moved to Fleming Co. His second wife was Elizabeth HOUGHAM and they are buried in Siloam Cemetery. Several children were born to Jesse: Mary, Nancy, Jarvis, Joyce, Benjamin, Alitha, Jesse Jr and William. There was also a brother William who served in the RW as well.

Aaron Houghman had dau. Elizabeth Houghman (born 1774 Md.- bef 1850 KY). Elizabeth married Jesse Davis b. 1762 Stafford Co., VA – died 21 Nov 1857 Rowan Co., KY., only in Rowan Co. one year. Resident of Fleming Co., KY 14 or 15 years. Marriage date & place unknown?
Jesse Davis Rev. War Vet. Drew pension. He enlisted at Dumfries, Prince William County, VA. Oct. 17 1779, as Pvt. In Capt. Thomas Young's Company, Col. Jos. Crockett's Virginia Reg't., usually called the "Western Battalion". After service in VA, MD, he served under Gen. George Rogers Clark, and was discharged by Capt. Young at Louisville, KY, 20 Dec 1781. Jesse was Brother-in law to James Harper (1774-1852).
