Jerome R. "Jerry" Wardwell, 76, of Widen died January 4, 2005, at home. He was born Dec. 25, 1929, in Macomb, New York. He was retired president of Majestic Mining and Pioneer Construction. Surviving: wife, Barbara of Michigan; children, Steven Wardwell of Rhode Island, Ann Wardwell of Charlton Heights, Scott Wardwell of California, Pauline Kiser of Summersville, Pamela Rizzo of New York, Michael Wardwell of Canaan Valley and Jay R Wardwell of Beckley; longtime companion, Gladys Davis of Oak Hill; 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Service will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, January 8, at O'Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery. Friends may call one hour prior to service at the funeral home. The family asks that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions be sent to the West Virginia University's Ruby Memorial Hospital Pediatrics Intensive Care Unit, Morgantown, WV 26506. -Charleston (West Virginia) Gazette 06 January 2006
