My father always thought he was the 1st child and uncle Pete (Kurn K. Knight) # 2. I started to wonder about this problem when I went and got uncle Petes birth certificate, they were kind of different back then it asked what # child, it looked like # 2 and then # 3 written over the top of it, then I went to check on the graves of Justins parents and that was when I found out about a baby being buried with them and it said baby to J.P. Knight. I did not even try yo see if a birth or death certificate existed. But there are to full family genog books of the familys of Hamblin and Chapin they both come all the way down to my father and they tell of the 1st child. Now I have been working on my grand mothers Mary Madina Frederick Knight's side of the family her mother was a Shaffer that is really the line and just last summer a lost long back cousin I found had some pages birth-death-marriages from a family bible and in it says in births Baby Knight was born Feb 24 1899 and died Feb25 1899.
