Four months old in 1880 census.

Not in 1900 census with the family; became a nun and joined a convent, Black Franciscans of Buffalo, NY; took the name Sister Eusebia. (Per Dan Conlin.)

I think I found her in the 1900 census as an "inmate" or "sister" in 12th ward, 337 Pine Street: Betz, (looks like Jennie), b. January 1880, New York. Father born NY; mother born Ireland.

Lois found a reference to Jenny in an address book belonging to William Clabeau, saying: "when in Buffalo can be found at St. Francis Home, Pine Street or inquiring of Chas Betz". Then: "Chas Betts, 163 Wakefield Ave, Buffalo, Ny, Phone Crescent 1972J". Dan Conlin confirmed that the Wakefield address was that of his grandfather. [This Charles is probably Jennie's brother, not father.]

From Julie Shields 30 March 2004: St. Francis Asylum, located at 337 Pine St. in Buffalo, was a home for the aged. In 1861 the Sisters of St. Francis had come to Buffalo and begun their work in caring for the aging. The following year their services were in such demand that they were able to open a building on Pine Street. This was the well-known St. Francis' Asylum for the Aged, or simply, St. Francis' Home, which specialized in the care of the aged and infirm. In 1864 the Catholic Protectory, founded 10 years earlier, was officially incorporated under the care of the Society for the Protection of Destitute Catholic Children. This information was taken from the "History of Erie County 1870-1970" published by the Buffalo & Erie County Historical Society.

1930 census: Found in a church at 228 Brinkmann, Buffalo, NY, age 49, "teacher".
