The Telegraph Journal 02/18/2005 SMITH, JEAN MAVIS (DOWNEY) - After a courageous battle with lung cancer, Jean Mavis (Downey) Smith passed away February 15, 2005 in Hawkesbury, Ontario. Born in Woodstock, N.B. she was the daughter of the late Loran and Joanne (Clark) Downey. Her children, Judy and Craig Audette, Joyce and Keith Bailey, John and Paula, Jim and Sandy, Jeff and Helene, Janet and Angelo Falvo, Jerry and Sherry, as well as 15 grandchildren and five great grandchildren, plus brothers and sisters will sadly miss her. Jean will be joining her beloved husband John Russell, her parents, brother and grandson. Visitation for Jean Mavis Smith will be held at the Carleton Funeral Home, 337 Lockhart Mill Road, Jacksonville, N.B. on Friday 6-9PM and Saturday 10-11AM. Funeral service for Jean Smith will be on Saturday at 11:30AM from the Carleton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Leonard Cousins officiating. Burial in the Woodstock Rural Cemetery at a later date. As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to the Cancer Society or a memorial of the donor's choice.
