Janet (b. 1793 Crieff) married in 1815 and died 17jun1867 at 41 Adelphi St., Glasgow, widow of Peter Sinclair, watchmaker, daughter of (deceased parents) James McIntosh, shoemaker, and Margaret McNiven, witnessed by son, Peter (B. Jones). Janet McIntosh married Peter Sinclar 21oct1815 at Abbey (Paisley), Renfr. (IGI). Peter was born abt 1783 in Scotland, maybe in Renfrews. and died between 1841 and 1851; he was a clockmaker (B. Jones). In 1841 the Sinclair family were at 67 Canning St., Barony, Lanarks.: Peter (b. 1783 outside Lan., watch and clock maker), Janet (1794 outside Lan., house keeper) and children (b. Lanarks.) Janet (1825), Peter (1827), Jean (1829), Alexander (1832) and Helen (1838) (census). Possibly Peter: P. Sinclair of Shields, Sinclair and Co., house 17 Canning St. (1831 PO Directory Glasgow). This may be Janet: Mrs. Sinclair, spirit dealer, 14 Canning St. (Glasgow PO Directory, 1844). In 1851 Janet Sinclair (1794 Crieff, Perthshire), children (b. Glasgow) Janet (1828, milliner), Peter (1830, iron turner), Jane (1832, ?boot binder), Helen (1839) and lodgers were at 215 Holm St., Barony (census). In 1861 Janet Sinclair (1794 Crieff, house keeper), daughter Helen (1839, Glasgow, sewing machine stitcher), grandson Henry (1845, England, shoemaker) were at Blythswood, Glasgow (census).
