- Vol. 2 - MARRIAGE BOND IN AUGUSTA COUNTY - 1786--December 29, Wm. Johnston and Jenny Kirkland, daughter of James Kirkland; surety, Arthur Connelly; witnesses, Saml. Kirkland, James Kirkland.
- Vol. 2 - NOVEMBER, 1793. - Henry King vs. Arthur Connelly and Jane, his wife.--Writ, 14th September, 1792. Mary Kirland is about to move out of the State, 1793. Mary is seventeen years old 29th June, 1793. Mary's sister was Jane, wife of William Johnston.
- Page 389.--15th February, 1817. Jane McClure's will--To sister Margaret Lackie's children; to my brothers' Dauter and Dauter, and dauter to John Johnson, deceased, and wife, one to me unknown and also deceased, to her child if she comes to the age of maturity, thirty pounds to her and her heirs; to Isaac McClure and David McClure, all estate, after paying the legacy left to the orphan child of Jean Johnston, deceased. Executor, David McClure. Teste: Daniel Bell, Hugh McClure, Jr.; Samuel McClure. Proved, 24th August, 1818. Executor qualifies.
