There are some discrepencies in the age of James and his birth date. Estimates accordingly vary between 1780 and 1786.

1807 - Baptism: James, son of Thomas WOMACK and Margaret MURTON. Robert's age was given as 26 years. This would indicate that he was born about 1780. There was no mention of him having been previously baptised. John's sister, Elizabeth, was also baptised on the same day.

1825 - James' mother's will provided for a debt of 40 pound owed by James to her son-in-law (i.e. step-son), William WOMACK, to be cleared. James and his brother, Robert, received a half share of the residuary of her estate arising from the sale of household furniture and effects (after payment of debts, purchase of head stones etc.).

1841 - Probably the James WOMACK who, with others, conveyed a piece of arable land (6a, 1r, 36p, village location unspecified) to Thomas Crisp Molineux-Montgomerie (NRO MC 2009/14, 899X8).

1841 - With a servant (Frances CAPES, female servant, aged 35, born in the county) and her daughter (Ann CAPES, 15, who appears to be the daughter of James and Frances) at the Green, North Lopham, Norfolk. Farmer aged 50, born in the county. Son John is with his family next door.

1845 - Mr J. WOMACK paid rent of 22 pounds, recorded in North Lopham Churchwarden's Book (NRO PD 338/13).

1851 - Recorded as married but no wife listed in household on The Green, North Lopham. Farmer of 4 acres, aged 65, born at North Lopham. With one house servant (Frances CAPES, house servant, unmarried, aged 50/6?, born at Winfarthing, Norfolk).

1861 - Recorded as widower, with one servant (Frances CAPES) at the Village, North Lopham. Farmer of 4 acres, aged 74, born at North Lopham.
