  2.   No. 163 JAMES H. VANCE , in Wise, Matthew M. The Boston family of Maryland. (Salem, Virginia: s.n.], 1967).

James H. Vance, son of Thomas W. and Amelia A. (Boston) Vance, born in Barren Co., Ky 17 June 1838; died Bowling Green, Ky 23 June 1906, buried Fairview Cemetery there. Apparently an orphan, he was in the household of his grandfather Boston in the 1850 census, and he was among the heirs in the settlement of his grandfather's estate in 1882 (Barren Co. Deeds 17:19). He was reportedly a clergyman.

Child: James, went to Jackson, Miss., where he was reportedly killed in a railroad accident.
