- Jefferson County, Tennessee Court, pg. 138, November Session 1796
- Elizabeth Donnell came into Court and made oath to the following instrument of writing, Viz.
- Came Elizabeth Donnall formerly the wife, and widow and relict of James Thompton deceased of the County of Antrim in Ireland and made oath as the law directs that her three daughters towit, Esther Thompson the eldest, and Mary Thompson the second and Jean Thompson the third and youngest, And that Esther Thompson at present the wife of John McSpadden of the County of Jefferson and State of Tennessee was born in the County of Antrim in Ireland on the 8th day of August 1756. And that her daughter Mary Thompson at present the wife of Samuel Weir of the County of Sevier in the State of Tennessee was born in the County of Antrim on the first day of November 1758. And her daughter Jean Thompson at present the wife of Andrew Cowan of the County of Jefferson and State of Tennessee was born in the County of Antrim in Ireland in the Month of August in the year of our Lord 1761. And her three daughters Viz the said Esther, Mary and Jean are the true and lawful heirs of the estate of James Thompson deceaased their father of the County of Antrim in Ireland
