    James along with his brother Joseph, sister Nancy Stafford Hoge (wife of Daniel Hoge), sister Catherine Stafford Mitchell, George Stafford, and his brother Ralph Stafford were in the compnay of Samuel Mitchell Sr, and James's brother William, and Howard emigrated to the counties of Clark and Miami, Ohio from Virginia in 1811.
