Served in Civil War in Co. K, 31st Regiment, Missouri Volunteer Infantry. I have a copy of his service record and Widow pension application. He served from 13-Mar-1862 to 12-Oct-1864. He was discharged with a disease he contracted during his service.

In the 1850 census (MO, Clark), 1860, 70 and 80 census (MO, Adair). Entered into a deed on 17-Jan-1859 and 18-Jul-1882 in Adair Co., MO. His estate was probated 30-Oct-1884 in Adair Co., MO. His obituary is recorded in the Kirksville Journal.

The family is also in a biography of Kirsville, MO from 1976. The family came to Adair Co., MO in 1856.
