These records were copied from six pages of photostats shared byBarbara Underwood Carle, Stuttgart, AR. The photostats weremade of the family record pages in an old Bible then in thepossession of Mary Louise Hender Wright (Mrs. Charles), Dewitt,AR. The frontspiece is missing.The new Testament introductorypage is imprinted (Coopertown, New York, 1829"
Core Comment: It appears this Bible was originally the recordof James Bradford Rust and his wife Nancy. No records have beenlocated indicating James Bradford Rust to have been in Arkansas.It is thought that the James B. Rust enumerated in the 1840 Fed.Census of Marshall Co., TN page 203 is this family. Probablyafter James Bradford Rust died in 1847, the widow Nancy andchildren came to Arkansas Co., AR. The marriage of Sarah AnnRust is recorded here in Dec. of 1848. Nancy Rust is enumeratedin the household of Sarah and her husban James P. Lowe inPrairie Township in the 1850 Fed. census. The family recordsthen tell of Sarah and her three marriages.
