James Ridley b Truro, MA. 06 Febuary, 1717/18 son of Thomas and Mary (Strout) Ridley: d Harpswell 14 July 1797 killed by lightning: m (1) 30 March 1738 Ruth (Smalley), b Truro, MA. January 1718/19 dau of Daniel and Sarah Smalley m (2) 17 September 1753 Mary (Smalley) Bowie, b Truro, MA. October 1721 dau of Samuel and Isabel (Dyer) Smalley. He moved to Great Island, Harpswell in 1752.

Children: Births of seven in Truro, MA.


Ann .........b 28 December 1740. A son John Monroe, b "Indian Island" 1761. The father d when John was just a baby and Ann moved back to Truro, MA. John was bound to Capt. James Lombard of Athol, MA. living with the until age 17 when he enlisted in the Revolutionary War. He removed to Pennfield N.B. Revolutionary War Pention (#W24022).
