Lived in Michigan in 1895 where Elmer was born and James Certicate of naturalization is dated 10/24/1896 in Genesee Cty, Michigan. Robert Lowe at Central Park, WA has the original of the certificate.

In the divorce degree for James and Alice there is mention of property that one or both owned in Texas which was awarded to 896 date at Alice. It is possible that they may have lived in texas at sometime between the 1896 and 1899 when they had returned to live in Ontario where Jesse was born May 22, 1899.

1911 Census states that James, Alice, Theressa, Thriza, Elmer, Marion, Jesse and Clarence were all living at (Loweton) Estevan, Saskatchewan.

Lived in Loweton Saskatchewan in 1906 according to CWL copy of birth registration. He is listed as a Farmer and Postmaster. Loweton was name of the place because they had the post office in their house. It was near Oxbow. Section 04, Township 02, Range 10, West of the Second Meridian.

An entry in a book titled "Our Prairie Heritage" reads: (Contributor of the information not given.)

BYRON LOWE

Byron Lowe homesteaded the SW. of 4-2-10-w2. In the early years they had the post office at their house, called the Loweton Post Office. This was the first post office in the vicinity. The mail was delivered once a week from Estevan by team. Then came the mail route and mail boxes were placed along the road. One fellow told of, as a lad , how he waited for the mail, fighting mosquitoes. If you wanted to buy a money order or if there was registered mail, you had to be there when the mailman came and sometimes that could be a long wait because the mailman didn't always come at the same time. The Rural Route began in 1910.

Mr and Mrs. Lowe raised a family of seven children. James Barnstable family lived on this quater section for many years. (End)

In the history of Kolke School District there is reference to address as Loweton, but no mention of the Lowe family.

JBL and AML moved to Eastport, Idaho 3/17/1914.

On November 23rd 1935 AML sent a request to the Registrar General of Ontario in Toronto for a copy of a death certificate of Rebecca June Rusaw Lowe who supposedly died in Dummer, Peterborough Cty in 1883. Day and month unknown. I asked Irene Bray about this woman in my 3/25/1994 discussion. She told me that she had never heard of JBL having been married previous to AML but it is possible. NOTE: See Rebecca Jane Rusaw Lowe for information on this marriage which is now confirmed.

Listed as "farmer and did carpenter work" on Affadavit of Birth for Jesse. Death Record # 19 Registered #588 Salvation Army worker, died of apoplexy.

In interview with Irene Bray on 03/25/94 she gave the following information most of which is on a cassette tape. She last remembered JBL and AML together in 1914 when her (Irene's)brother, Stanley, was born. JBL was "stepping out" on grandma which apparently was what had caused the divorce. JBL was a Sgt in the Salvation Army and played Santa in Centralia. He died of a stroke which came on after lifting "too much at Christmas". He liked Irene and wrote to her. He was Pennsylvania Dutch (possible German or Holland).

The Centralia/Chehalis City Directory for 1925-26 shows him as "Lowe, Jas B carpenter home at 920 W. Walnut". He is not listed in the 1914-15, 22-23, and 27-28 directories.

Buried at Mountain View Burial Park in the back in an unmarked grave Lot 30, Plot 12. I have checked with the caretaker there but they are unable to determine exactly where this is located. A few years ago some restoration was done and gravestones were dug up and placed back in sight, having been buried by debris. His was not located and according to his son CWL there never was one although he, CWL, had wanted to place one. I was told that I would be welcome to place a stone at any place in the immediate area where he is buried as long as there is no stone or identification of the spot and no other gravesite was identified where it was placed.
