James was the only surviving son of Marsh and Kathleen Kennedy, his younger brother having died in infancy. He was the "man of the house" when his father was away. He was taught at home by his mother until the family moved to Ft. Worth when he was 6 yrs

old. He worked at various jobs and worked to help support his older sister Ruth while she was in college. He married Lena Weeks, a beautiful blonde and they had a son, Jim Jr. and then a year later another son, Jere. He moved with his family to El Paso to work at Ft. Bliss and was involved in construction there. They had another son, Michael April 1944, when the older boys were 7 and 8 and then their little girl Carol was born in December 1951. Theydivorced when Carol was 8 years old and he married Hazel and moved to Waco where he died. James was a fun loving guy, loved the outdoors and camping. He loved to

tease and tell jokes. He was a loving brother, a caring and affectionate son, a concerned father and friend. He had a stroke early in his 40's and walked with crutches until his death at age 62 of a heart attack.
