BIRTH: 1850 Ohio Census Ashtabula Co. p. 415 also The Geneology of the Descendants of William Kelsey vol. II by Edward Claypool, p. 284. which also states: "we have no further record of the family aside from that of James Jonas, who resided at Rome, Ohio. Vol III of the above on p. 245 states:" It is evident that James Jonas Kelsey spent most of his life in Ashtabula County, northeastern Ohio, for his father, Daniel (1367), settled there when James Jonas was a small boy." Actually his family moved there in 1830, making him 13 years old. IGI shows an entry with his birth date correct but it has the place as Ashtabula OH, which is incorrect. Film #1260936 The 1850 Ohio Census Ashtabula Co. shows him with his wife Marietta and the four children that had been born by then with all of their birth places as NY.
