    JAMES HOWARD, son of John; m. Elizabeth, dau. of John and Experience (Mitchell) Washburn of B., 1686. He joined an expedition to Canada, enlisting in the public service in 1690, and d. there the same year. The widow m. Edward Sealey of E., 1692. In 1685 he, being 21 yrs. of age or over, received one of the "young men's shares," being a grant of land acquired, in addition to the original grant of Bridgewater, four miles square.
