    James Henderson, son of Alexander Henderson and Sarah DINWIDDIE was b. 15 Dec 1784; m. 17 Dec 1822 to Elizabeth NOEL (9 Mar 1800, dgtr of Taylor Noel and Agatha CRUTCHFIELD; d. 1875) James and Elizabeth Henderson were members of the Old Paint Lick Presbyterian Church. James was a large man weighing almost 300 pounds.
    James Henderson'w will is recorded in Garrard County. The will lists all of his 9 children. According to the 1870 United States Census Elizabeth Henderson was worth 7,000 dollars in real estate and resided with her son, John Rice Henderson. At the time of Elizabeth's death she owned 190 acres situated in Garrard County, Kentucky, on the waters of Paint Lick Creek about one mile west of Lowell. The land was in a high state of cultivation, had a good dwelling house and barns and was well watered and timbered (from old Sale Bill owned by Cecil Henderson).
