James Grant was from Abernethy (Parish of Abernethy and Kincardine). Gravestone on https://www.dcnyhistory.org/Grant-Truesdell.pdf page 49. Wife Barbara Cumming from Tullochgorum a large farm in same parish of Abernethy and Kincardine. They both sailed on the George. Barbara’s family all on that ship. Her father was William Cumming, mother Isobell, sister Margery, Isobell, Katherine, and brothers Alexander and John.     Will of James Grant

    I, James Grant of the town of Stamford in the county of Delaware and State of New York, being of perfect mind & memory though weakly in body, do this twentieth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight Hundred and twenty, make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (viz)

    That wordly estate which it has pleased God to bestow on me, I dispose of as follows. I give and bequeath unto my two sons Duncan J. Grant and James J. Grant and to their heirs and assigns forever, all that farm that I now own and occupy in Stamford together with all and singular the privileges and appurtances thereon, or thereunto belonging, to be equally divided between them. And to my daughter Maryan Eighty Dollars, to my daughter Mary Eighty dollars, to my daughter Barbara Eighty Dollars, and to my daughter Janet one Hundred Dollars, all which to be paid to them by my two sons aforesaid in two years after my death. I likewise bequeath to my son in law John A. Grant twenty five cents and to each of the children that he now has one sheep, in one year after my death. I likewise desire and appoint my said sons to pay all the debts that I shall owe, to pay any funeral charges, and to sue for and collect all debts that shall be due to me and to pay the above Legacies. I likewise bequeath to my said sons all my horses, cattle, sheep, hays, grain and all and singular my property real and personal. And I make and ordain Duncan J. Grant my son and Alexander Cumming Executors of this my last Will and Testament.

    In Witness Whereof I the said James Grant have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above written.
