Often known as Jimmy, he was raised by his maternal grandparents after the death of his mother from tuberculosis when he was aged 8.

2010 - Obituary, Niagara Gazette: NIAGARA FALLS - James F. Geschwender, age 73, of Niagara Falls, was called to his heavenly home on April 23, 2010 at his residence, under hospice care. Born in Lewiston, NY on July 4, 1936. James was a local musician, playing in many country music bands, including Roadrunners, Moving Country, Wagon Wheel Review, and many others. He was known in the music field as Jimmy Gee. James was a member of the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, in Wheatfield, where he served as an Elder. He was employed as a truck driver with Cataract Trucking and GL Transport. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Elizabeth (Zewin) Geschwender; three sons, James (Denise), Nicholas (Debra) and Joseph (Rebecca) Geschwender; mother, Henrietta (Freeman) Geschwender; sister, Blanch Chase and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Caroline and James Geschwender. Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield on Monday from 5-7 PM, with services following visitation at 7 PM.
